Perimeter Fencing for Yards, Lots and Business Parks

Our crews work occupied yards and storage lots, setting posts one run at a time so the business keeps its trucks, tenants and deliveries moving. Backed by 17 years in business and our 18-month workmanship warranty, we have completed over 1,483 projects, from a short frontage fence to full perimeters with vehicle gates, and references are available on request.

From the survey and the post layout to the gate tie-ins and the final walk, our team handles the parts of a perimeter job that decide whether the yard is secure by the end of each day. Serving Cedar Park, Georgetown, Round Rock and Leander, we hold the property manager's schedule, close each section before the crew leaves, and turn the line over ready for the owner's walkthrough.

Gina's light industrial yard on Airport Road in Georgetown needed a perimeter that stopped after-hours entry through an old chain link line. We installed 320 lf of heavy tube steel with a black powder coat, with 6 ft anti-climb panels. The crew worked in sections so the yard stayed closed every night. The job was an estimated $19,400 to $25,600 and took an estimated 3 to 4 days. The pickets are tight-spaced, with no climb rail on the outside.

Which Security Fence Fits Your Lot

The table sets the common commercial lines side by side.

On a flat Georgetown or Round Rock lot, panels run straight and the posts set quickly. On a Leander or Lakeway hillside, pickets are racked to follow the grade up to the panel limit, then stepped.

Commercial Security Fence Specifications

Frame steel
14-gauge tube pickets on 11-gauge rails and 3/16-inch wall gate posts, sized to the run rather than to a catalog.
Finish system
Sandblast, zinc-rich primer and a polyester powder coat baked at the coater, black on the Airport Road line.
Post footings
36-inch minimum depth for fence posts and 48-inch for gate posts, with rock bits wherever a limestone ledge stops the auger.
Picket spacing
No more than 4 inches between pickets on any run a child can reach, as along Forest Creek and Hatley Drive frontage.
Top detail
Flat-top rail, spear or finial, selected against the local code along Twin Creeks and Old Town lines.
Slope handling
Pickets racked to follow a grade up to the panel limit, then stepped, and the lot shot with a level before any layout is set on a Steiner Ranch or Volente hillside.
Estimated price
An estimated $19,400 to $25,600 for 320 lf of anti-climb panels.
Gate tie-in
Priced separately when a yard wants one, with a track slide gate with rack drive at an estimated $1,700 to $4,800.

Rock, Grade and Footings on Hill Country Lots

Posts go 36 inches deep on fence runs and 48 inches under gate posts, and a rock bit is on the truck for every Georgetown or Leander yard. A limestone ledge adds an estimated half day, named in the quote. Steiner Ranch and Lakeway hillside lots are shot with a level before any panel is ordered.

Finish and Corrosion on Commercial Steel

Bare steel is sandblasted, primed with zinc-rich primer and powder coated at the coater, never field paint on new steel. Hot-dip galvanizing comes first on fence near Round Rock drainage or Volente lake humidity, and the powder coat goes on after.

The Security Fence Bid Process

The steps run the same on every yard:

  1. Site walk: property lines, grade, rock, utilities and gate locations, from Mason Hills to Buttercup Creek.
  2. Layout: post spacing, panel height and the order of the sections, with the most exposed runs first.
  3. Written bid: panels, posts, finish, gates and schedule in one package.
  4. Install in sections: each section closed before the crew leaves.

Gate Tie-Ins and Fire Access

A vehicle gate on the line gets photo eyes and edges, and a hardwired 120V operator needs an electrical permit. On a Round Rock yard the Fire Marshal wants a city-approved Knox key switch on the gate and will not let it run until its acceptance test passes, so check the current text with the city. For Crystal Falls and Travisso gates, Leander has published Knox Box guidelines, so check the current text with the city before the gate is ordered. A Lakeway gate means handing the codes to police and fitting a key switch for Travis County ESD #6, and the city text should be rechecked before the order.

Working Around an Open Yard

Gina's crew set posts one run at a time and hung panels in sections, so the yard stayed closed every night and the trucks kept their lane by day. Our lead welder fabricates gate frames and corner details in our shop, so a Georgetown or Leander run stays short on site.

Security Fencing Questions

How tall is a commercial security fence?

Six feet is common, as on the anti-climb panels on Airport Road, and the site walk confirms the height your lot needs.

How long does a perimeter install take?

320 lf took an estimated 3 to 4 days in Georgetown, and the written quote sets the schedule.

Can the yard stay closed while you work?

Yes, sections are closed every night before the crew leaves.

What if the crew hits rock?

A rock bit is on the truck for limestone ledges, and the rock allowance is named in the quote.

Do you tie the fence into a vehicle gate?

Yes, a track slide gate with rack drive runs an estimated $1,700 to $4,800 and meets the new panels flush.

Do you bid from a site plan?

Yes, a site plan and fence length are enough for a first bid, and the site walk confirms the scope.

Start to finish

How a Gate Gets From Our Shop to Your Entry

  1. Site measure

An estimator walks the opening, reads the grade and marks where the leaf or the slide run has to clear.

  2. Drawings and approval

Steel gets cut only after you sign off on a scaled drawing that names the tube, the coating and the opener.

  3. Shop fabrication

Our Cedar Park welders build it, the steel goes for galvanizing and powder coat, and it ships finished.

  4. Install and safety test

Posts cure, the leaf goes up, the opener gets wired, and you watch each photo eye and edge stop the gate.
